Procurement Specialist - VR/20944
Procurement Specialist required to join a reputable oil and gas exploration and production company. This is a permanent position, based at the company’s global headquarters in central Aberdeen.
As Procurement Specialist, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Sourcing and purchasing materials and services, ensuring cost effectiveness and efficiency.
- Maintaining a full audit trail for all procurement transactions.
- Reviewing service requirements and following relevant internal procedures for risk assessments (commercial or HSEQ).
- Providing procurement expertise; working in conjunction with colleagues to develop sourcing plans and strategies.
- Managing the RFQ / ITT process from develop to negotiation and contract award.
- Monitoring and assessing supply source effectiveness; addressing any problems or issues as required.
- Appraising supplier performance using FPAL processes.
- Identifying and recommending suppliers.
- Expediting outstanding orders to achieve agreed delivery dates.
- Proactively identifying potential supply agreement opportunities.
- Working with Accounts Payable to resolve any invoice queries.
Applicants to this role should have experience in a similar procurement position, ideally within an upstream operating environment. It is essential that you have strong communication skills and the ability to plan and prioritise your workload.
