Two Project Accountants’ required to join a global provider of offshore services to the Oil and Gas industry as a response to a new addition to the company’s portfolio. The Project Accountant plays a vital role in providing project accounting support; specifically, in budget cost control, billings, GL and SOX and statutory audit. Located in the Dyce area of Aberdeen, this role will require you to be engaged in elements of transactional processes. QBE and Part-Qualified individuals are encouraged to apply.

You will report into the Finance Manager and hold responsibility for the following:

  • Reviewing project cost estimate with PMS.
  • Ensuring all project related orders are coded correctly in accordance with project cost estimate and where applicable informing Project Manager of any costs / PO’s that are discrepant with project cost estimate.
  • Checking all projected related invoices against purchase orders / subcontracts for error and contract compliance issues. Informing vendors of any such discrepancies.
  • Assisting Project Manager in resolving any AP invoice disputes.
  • Assisting with cost data required for variation orders.
  • Preparing monthly cost reports for review.
  • Preparing project invoices in accordance with the main contract. Ensuring that all invoices are contract compliant and are reviewed and approved by the Project Manager and Finance Manager before submission.
  • Identifying any significant monthly changes in the project costs estimate and providing / investigating reasons.
  • Ensuring SOX compliance and supporting audit.
  • Supporting annual statutory audit process.
  • Preparing cashflow forecasting.

You should have experience within a similar role and be able to work independently to meet fixed deadlines. You must possess strong knowledge of Oracle. You do not have to hold a professional accounting qualification to be considered for this role – QBE and Part-Qualified profiles will be considered. Please note that you will be involved with transactional accounts processes from both an AP and AR scope.
