Mechanical Support Engineer - VR/26533
Currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Support Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P Company based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. It is a 6-month contract position, and the company are looking to take on a candidate who is available to start in early January. The company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role. Occasional offshore travel may be required - therefore, applicants must be prepared to work offshore.
The Mechanical Support Engineer will support installations from within the onshore Maintenance Team. The post holder will be working alongside mechanical and marine support engineers and will be focusing on the preparation and delivery of critical maintenance scopes.
Reporting to the Field Maintenance Manager, the Mechanical Support Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Providing effective maintenance execution / strategy delivery.
- Discipline support for offshore across the field.
- Providing input to operations plans.
- Work order preparing for the discipline in collaboration with offshore.
- Close cooperating with Discipline Coordinator offshore for input to, and preparation of, new work orders.
- Reviewing work order scope to address the interface with other disciplines.
- Making requisitions for services and personnel from suppliers within the discipline.
- Making requisitions for materials and equipment.
- Ensuring quality of requisitions in cooperation with offshore (parts, equipment, materials) for key planned and corrective maintenance (PM/CM).
- Following up on requisitions in cooperation with Supply Chain to ensure correct priority on delivery.
- Planning preparations for the discipline following the planning process for operations and work order plan. Attending key planning meetings as agreed with Maintenance Manager / Engineer.
- Vendor management - responsible person for contracts / services as identified by the Maintenance Manager.
- Cost inputting to budget forecasting and spend to support Maintenance Engineer.
- Visiting offshore regularly, as agreed with the Maintenance Manager.
Experience / Qualifications:
- A Mechanical Engineering Degree qualification would be preferred.
- Current / valid offshore certification would be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar Mechanical Support Engineer type role, supporting offshore operations, is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role, directly with an E&P Company / Operator, would be preferred.
- FPSO experience would be preferred.
- Applicants will be expected to have experience with SAP CMMS.
