QHSE Advisor required for a permanent position based in Dyce with a reputable Aviation company. The successful candidate will have a strong Health & Safety background and will come from an aviation background - this is essential. The QHSE Manager will assist in all HSE related tasks at the base, including investigations and HSE training.

     

Reporting to the QHSE Manager, your role will include:    

    

  • Advising the UK MD on general and local HSE matters, and assisting with the implementation.
  • Assisting with the implementation of group policies and monitoring adherence.
  • Assisting the QHSE Manager in developing group HSE policies and suggesting improvements.
  • Monitoring compliance of HSE legislation and company procedures throughout all UK sites, via auditing and regular inspections, and ensuring that all non-conformances and observations are actioned and closed out within the allocated timeframe, by liaising with respective UK Base Managers.
  • Preparing HSE strategies and presenting them to Senior Management to encourage and support continuous improvement.
  • Assisting with global safety campaigns and initiatives.
  • Assisting in the development of site-specific risk registers and risk assessments, and ensuring that these are communicated to the workforce.
  • Leading and participating in HSE accident, incident and near miss investigations.
    Leading the ISO14001 project; identifying the company’s environmental aspects and impacts, producing the environmental risk register and setting targets and objectives for the UK.
  • Liaising with stakeholders / clients regarding HSE related topics and reviewing quarterly performance statistics. Sharing and discussing root causes, lessons learned and corrective actions from audits, investigations and inspections.
  • Providing induction training for new employees and contractors. Developing training matrix’s for various roles within the organisation and ensuring that training and competency records are frequently reviewed and are in date.
  • Business development – supporting tender preparations and contract reviews in regards to HSE requirements.
  • Providing HSE support and advice, where required, across the business functions and locations.
  • Generating safety information notices, bulletins and newsletters, and communicating them across all areas of the UK business.
  • Document control - reviewing and maintaining the company’s HSE related documentation. 
  • Internal and external auditing in line with ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 principles.
    HSE data analysis and trend identification.
  • Producing, implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of the global HSE procedures.
  • Assisting in the development of the safety culture, in line with the company’s policies, values and missions
  • Crisis management (Emergency Response) support.
  • Contractor HSE control, including permit to work, RAMs and competency assurance management.
  • Facilitating occupational health requirements, such as drug and alcohol testing.

    

Experience / Qualifications:

    

  • A formal safety and training qualification (NEBOSH, or equivalent) is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar QHSE Advisor type role, within the Aviation sector, is essential.
  • Proven safety experience is essential.
  • Applicants will be expected to possess HSE auditing experience.
  • Environmental experience is desirable.
