Exciting opportunity to join acquisitive oil and gas operator on a long-term contract basis. The Assistant Drilling Accountant will support with cost tracking and reporting. The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years’ cost experience ideally in an oil and gas environment however consideration will be given to those with large company experience.
Main duties will include:
- Updating drilling tracking reports accurately.
- Uploading interface deliverables into drilling cost reporting process.
- Completing variance analysis of cost categories.
- Journal entries and adjustments.
- Reviewing and issuing time writing reports to budget holders.
- Understanding cost impact of agreed contracts.
- Interfacing with all levels of drilling organisation, understanding department requirement for cost support.
- Reviewing and understanding content and assumptions in well AFEs/time and cost estimates.
- Providing invoice validation as required.
- Assisting with well reconciliations.
- Interfacing with logistics, understanding resource utilisation and cost impact.
- Ad-hoc tasks required to support Drilling Accountant.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years oil industry experience in cost role.
- SAP or experience using an ERP system.
- Knowledge of JV accounting standards.
