Category Specialist (Logistics) - VR/21319
Category Specialist with experience of Logistics contracts required to join an oil and gas operator based in Aberdeen city centre. The Category Specialist plays an important role within the Contracts and Procurement Team. This is position is initially for a 6-month period.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external third-parties, your duties as Category Specialist will include:
- Undertaking category assessments to implement robust strategic sourcing plans.
- Maximising value from the initial contract negotiations through the whole lifecycle of the category.
- Managing all contract and procurement activity across expenditure categories.
- Providing leadership and insight on market dynamics, regulatory framework, suppliers and technical innovations.
- Sourcing and procuring goods and services, ensuring optimum value for money.
- Leading and evaluating competitive tenders and proposals.
- Negotiating with suppliers on all commercial and contractual matters.
- Drafting contract agreements, ensuring that operational and commercial risks are fully understood and minimised.
- Achieving defined bottom-line and cost-saving targets.
- Supplier management activities.
Applicants to this position should offer previous experience in a similar position within the oil and gas industry, ideally with experience of logistics contracts. You should be comfortable in managing a category through the full lifecycle, with strong commercial acumen and an understanding of contract law.
