Electronic Engineer - VR/20779
Currently recruiting for an experienced Electronic Engineer on a permanent staff basis for an Oil & Gas company based in Dyce, Aberdeen.
There may be the occasional requirement to work offshore, therefore applicants must be prepared to do this.
This role would suit an experienced and Degree-qualified Electronic Engineer, and the successful candidate will be involved in the development and testing of new and existing surface and downhole tools. The successful candidate will work primarily within the Electronics R&D Group, and will be expected to help expand and enhance the range of services that the company provides.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Designing electronics for surface and downhole tools.
- Circuit analysis, simulation and schematic capture for component level PCB design.
- Developing hardware and software for testing and production.
- Planning, preparing and conducting the qualification of new designs and technology.
- Generating engineering reports and work instructions.
- Maintaining clear documentation on design and test development.
Experience / Qualifications:
Essential:
- A Degree qualification in Electronics Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience in electronic design.
Desirable:
- Experience with downhole tools in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience of wireline tool design.
- Experience with high temperature electronics.
- Analogue and low power electronics design experience.
- Wireless and acoustic communications design experience.
- Software / microprocessor skills.
- Proficiency with electronic design and analysis software.
