Finance Officer required for an 8-month maternity cover for a dynamic third sector organisation. This is an integral post where you will have responsibility to ensure financial information is available to support board decision making. Up to 30hours per week, depending on the individual. ASAP start Hybrid working is available.

      

As the post holder you will be responsible for three main areas of work:

  • Delivery of the finance and payroll function of the Organisation, which includes:
    • Allocating expenditure and staff costs against strands and projects across the organisation;
    • Completing processing and control of monthly payroll for full and part-time staff;
    • Administering occupational pension schemes and associated reporting and payments;
    • Ensuring that statutory payments to HMRC and other relevant bodies are timely and accurate; and
    • Running payroll year end and submit end of year reports to HMRC.
  • Preparation of management accounts and work alongside the CEO to deliver financial reports to the Board, Management Team and to external funders:
    • Preparing periodic and annual management accounts for the Board and Management Team, including income and expenditure and budget vs actual reports across strands and the organisation; and
    • Working alongside the CEO to prepare financial projections to support funding applications and end of project reports to funders.
  • Working alongside the Chief Executive and external Auditors to undertake the annual finance audit;
    • Liaising with external auditors/Accountant and answer any queries in a timely manner;
    • Preparing final accounts for the Organisation and liaise with auditors for production of audited accounts;
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant Companies and Charities financial legislation and guidelines;
    • Preparing all required paperwork for the audit process, including summary of Debtors/Creditors, Fund Statements, Payroll information, Management Accounts, details on Fixed assets and fund allocations/splits; and
    • Creating templates for the new financial year.
