TMM Recruitment is partnering with an Aberdeen city centre based energy service company to recruit a new Group IT Manager.

    

The successful candidate will be required to provide support across the business in this wide ranging, key role which reports directly into the operational management and board level personnel. Ultimately the employer is looking for an experienced IT professional to undertake this role permanently however candidates who would be available for an immediate start on a temporary, interim basis will also be considered. Due to COVID restrictions remote working will be in place initially but the intention is for the role to be office based in due course.

     

Reporting into the Group’s Management Team and working closely with the wider Leadership Team this individual will be responsible for leading on all aspects of IT across the operation from ensure the day-to-day effectiveness of systems and supporting users throughout the business to delivering on wider projects.

     

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Maintaining and installing the Group’s systems, servers, networks, devices and communications infrastructure.
  • Organising the Group’s hardware and software provision.
  • Scheduling upgrades and security backups of all hardware and software systems.
  • Ensuring the smooth running of all IT systems including the Group’s financial ERP package, technical software, anti-virus software, timesheet facilities, print services and email provision.
  • Securing the Group’s data from internal and external attacks.
  • Providing secure access to the network for all users (both internal and remote).
  • Managing mission-critical situations for the Group’s network recovery and backup systems, this may involve complex technical hardware or software problem solving to ensure the preservation of the Group’s technology and data.
  • Overseeing and determining timeframes for projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages.
  • Managing cost-effective IT budgets for forecasting and cash flow purposes.
  • Tracking both the inventory and status of all of the Group’s hardware and software.
  • Establishing relationships with technology vendors.
  • Testing, troubleshooting and adjusting of information systems where applicable to ensure they are operating effectively.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve and update relevant software and systems.
  • Conducting system audits where necessary.
  • Coordinating IT support, training, and orientation for new technology users.
  • Consulting users to ascertain needs and to ensure that IT facilities meet user and / or project requirements.
  • Offering users appropriate support and advice where applicable.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest technologies in your field.
