Head of Business Development - VR/24056
Working in the tourism sector the Head of Business Development is a key appointment which reports directly to the CEO. This is a permanent opportunity and candidates must have tourism sector experience to be in consideration. This role encompasses business travel, events and marketing and practical experience within these disciplines is essential.
It is the purpose of the Head of Business Development role to lead the agenda for business events and marketing within the sector. This role is in place to add value and increase tourism activity across the North East.
Duties are varied and a selection can be seen below:
- Determining marketing material and work with colleagues to deliver social media and PR campaigns.
- Producing bid documentation.
- Marketing on a B2B and B2C level.
- Managing a team on a day to day basis.
- Promotion activities.
- Creating and cultivating business events.
This is a key appointment to the team and there are some essential, skills, experience and qualifications which are required, these include:
- Experience working in the tourism sector.
- Experience working in the business events sector in the UK.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar post.
- Educated to degree level in relevant discipline.
- Strategic development experience.
- Previous career roles in both the public and private sectors.
