Currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer on a contract basis for an oil and gas operator based in Aberdeen. It is predicted to be a long-term ongoing contract position (likely circa 6-7 years) and the company is ideally looking to take on a candidate who is available at short notice. The company is only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role and all applicants must be fully eligible to work in the UK.

Initially based out of the Aberdeen office, the post holder would initially work from home / remotely due to current Covid-19 restrictions.  Thereafter, the job holder would work out of the London office for the first part of the FEED, and then this would likely be followed by another major European city for the second part, depending on contract awards.  This role will involve travel to Algeria – therefore the company is looking to take on an individual who is highly mobile and who is willing to travel extensively throughout the duration of the contract.

  • Support and assurance of any stress analysis modelling undertaken.
  • Reviewing and commentting on all third-party mechanical engineering deliverables.
  • Participating in HAZOPs, HAZIDs and technical reviews, as required.
  • Providing static mechanical engineering technical authority support to Algerian business unit.

  • Demonstrable experience in brownfield project execution for onshore gas plants is essential.
  • Experience of having performed end to end design activities in the delivery of project execution is essential.
