Senior Production Engineer - VR/21246
Currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Production Engineer on a contract basis for an Oil and Gas Operator based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. The contract will initially last until the end of December 2020 and the client is ideally looking to take on a candidate who is available at short notice. The client is offering this role on a PAYE basis only, therefore only PAYE Contractors will be considered. The post holder will directly support the delivery of the Golden Eagle 2020 production budget through the following: • Designing and delivery of well stimulation treatments (productivity restoration). • Producing technology completion selection for multi-well infill campaign. • Designing upper completion, including gas lift design for 3x infill wells. • Designing and project management for multiple barrel add interventions.
Reporting to the Petroleum Engineering Team Lead, the Senior Production Engineer will be responsible for identifying and maturing intervention opportunities, supporting on-going infill drilling by defining the completion requirements, and providing input to production and injection optimisation. These are the core elements of the Asset strategy, which aims to extend production life into the late 2020’s.
The Senior Production Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Supporting infill well programs – provision of all production technology input (upper completion design, artificial lift design and sand face design).
- Supporting / driving well productivity management and improvement initiatives.
- Platform / subsea interventions programming and design.
- Petroleum Engineering support to Subsurface / Development Team.
- Driving preparation of technical and commercial justification for well interventions and workovers.
- Overseeing third party studies.
- Occasional offshore visits, in support of project execution.
- Providing supervision, support, coaching and guidance to other Engineers, as and when required.
- Safeguard and management of the production / injection well operating envelope and performance interfaces.
- Identifying and realising well optimisation opportunities in conjunction with Reservoir Engineers and D&C Engineers.
- Overseeing flow assurance in producing / injecting wells and infrastructure.
- Driving sand management strategies.
Experience / Qualifications:
- An MSc Degree qualification in a relevant Petroleum Engineering / Reservoir Engineering discipline is essential.
- Previous and extensive experience in a similar Senior Production Engineer type role, within the Oil and Gas Industry, is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role, directly with an Oil & Gas Operator, would be preferred.
- Applicants will be expected to possess experience in the majority of the following areas:
- Experience with industry-standard petroleum engineering software methods, including well performance modelling, reservoir simulation and material balance.
- Experience with PVT analysis and interpretation.
- Experience with production chemistry issues associated with waterflood reservoirs.
- Experience with rock mechanical issues associated with production and injection.
- Experience with cased hole logging principles and application.
- Experience with metering principles and application.
- Experience with well and plant optimisation strategies.
- HPHT experience.
