In your role as UK Customs Manager, you’ll be responsible for the customs compliance of our client’s UK operations. You’ll help to draft and implement a Customs Strategy, with the aim of reducing costs, managing risks and ensuring compliance with UK customs legislation.

With managerial responsibility for the Customs Brokerage Team, you’ll also be tasked with driving continuous improvement in the team and the customs clearance processes (e.g. CFSP and automation).

Other Duties and Responsibilities will include: 

• Leading the UK business through HMRC audit activities and updating Senior Management with progress.
• Supporting with customs-related questions and enquiries.
• Identifying training needs within the customs team and arranging as necessary.
• Advising on all international import / export requirements.
• Ensuring constant compliance with all HMRC processes and any changes to legislation.
• Supporting with new applications for customs regimes and re-authorisation requests.
• Working with the Global Team to ensure all imported and exported products are correctly classified.
• Implementing CFSP authorisation.

Applicants to this position should offer experience in a similar position. You should be willing to take on challenges and be fully conversant in customs laws and regulations, as well as imports and exports processes.

It’s essential that you have strong interpersonal skills and take a collaborative approach to your work, to proactively engage key stakeholders and successfully deploy customs strategies across the UK business units.
