We are supporting our client, a reputable education provider, in their search for an experienced HR Advisor to support their team on a part time fixed-term basis. This 11-month maternity cover position will report to the HR Business Partner, providing professional advice and support to clients whilst assisting with additional projects. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of UK Employment Law and have demonstrable experience in a similar role.

          

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Understanding client’s strategic plans and the impact they have HR issues, giving the right advice and guidance.
  • Providing day-to-day support on operational issues and regular reports on issues such as – absence, turnover, performance management and progress towards short term goals and objectives.
  • Analysing statistics each month on absence and liaise with Managers on how to manage individual issues.
  • Liaising with Occupational Health, employees, and managers to ensure that the correct case management approach is taken on all absence cases.
  • Supporting and coaching line managers on performance management.
  • Providing support to line managers at investigations and meetings.
  • Providing input and advice to clients on job descriptions, person specifications, and advising on successful recruitment and selection methods.
  • Participating in interview selection panels ensuring that company policies and best practice are used when it comes to recruitment and selection decisions.
  • Working closely with the HR Business Partner, building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, employees, peers and service providers both in and out of the team.
  • Having knowledge of the appraisal process and providing support to line managers.
  • Ad-hoc projects given by the HR Business Partner or Senior HR Adviser such as restructures, redundancy programmes, introducing new policies etc.

           

Applicants to this role require

  • CIPD qualified (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of UK Employment Law.
  • Demonstratable experience in a similar role.
  • Working experience in dealing with employee relations issues.
