Contracts Specialist (Part-Time) - VR/29993

An opportunity is available for an experienced Contracts Specialist seeking a part-time role with hybrid working arrangements (21-24 hours per week). The employer is a leading provider of maintenance, modification, and asset integrity services to the global oil and gas, chemicals and process, metals and mining, power, and manufacturing industries, with a commitment to safety, diversity, and community support.

    

This role involves developing and managing a robust contract legal and commercial framework, coordinating contracts with customers, subcontractors, and partners, and mitigating risks in line with regulations and commercial objectives.

     

Duties & Responsibilities:

Negotiation:

  • Negotiating terms and conditions with customers.
  • Defining contractual scope and commercial terms with customers.

        

Contract Management:

  • Developing, monitoring, and evaluating the legal and commercial content of contracts.
  • Analysing the needs and objectives of clients, partners, and internal departments.
  • Draft contract proposals and ensure compliance with legal guidelines.
  • Reviewing and adjusting contracts to mitigate legal risks.

      

Risk Analysis:

  • Identifying and controlling potential risks in contracts.
  • Propose solutions to adjust contracts based on identified risks.
  • Preventing unlimited risks in contracts and ensure these are managed in subcontracts.

      

Quality Control:

  • Verifying the accuracy of contract data.
  • Implementing necessary corrections and ensure risk-free contracts.

       

Internal Coordination:

  • Advising and coordinate with internal departments regarding contract changes.
  • Interfacing with operations, commercial, legal, and insurance teams to balance contractual issues.

           

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Specialised knowledge of the industry and its stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, commercial models, and legal aspects.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to explain and convince.
