An international energy service company is looking to add a Cost Accountant to their team. You’ll support the development of financial plans and forecasts and identify ways to improve processes and optimise production costs.

    

This role would ideally suit an ambitious candidate who has monthly reporting exposure. You’ll be eager to learn and extremely detail orientated. You’ll be a highly adept problem solver and be able to support in the creation of forecasts and robust cost control measures.

            

Our client will offer full training and support to complement any gaps in knowledge. This would be a great opportunity for those who had an interested in pursuing a career within cost accounting.

           

Hybrid working is available on a 3+2 basis.

           

Reporting into the Controller, your role as Cost Accountant will include the following duties:

  • Developing and continually updating/distributing financial reports with respect of ongoing plant operations.
  • Analysing and interpreting variances in production and reporting to management.
  • Collecting and analysing data regarding operational costs and expenses, comparing actual performance against plan and forecasting performance and reporting to management.
  • Supporting plant management in setting standard costs for manufactured goods.
  • Analysing and recommending costs and cost savings.
  • Preparing and completing internal audits with respect of costs.
  • Providing management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
  • Reviewing and recommending procedures that directly influence financial transactions and inventory costing to ensure accuracy.
  • Completing Inventory reconciliations.
  • Assisting with periodic inventory cost rolls, collaborating with local plant management and accounting team.
  • Maintaining standard costs of raw materials, packaging and finished goods including new products.
