1 year contract for a Cost Controller with a reputable E&P company based in Aberdeen. You will work within an asset team, managing a budget with a focus on project modifications and shutdown scopes. You will have relevant experience in budgeting, forecasting and cost control.

    

Working within an asset team and interfacing directly with budget owners, the Cost Controller for modifications and shutdowns is responsible for managing an annual budget of circa £35M CAPEX and £60M OPEX with a focus on shutdown scopes and project modifications. Strict cost control protocols will be used to develop a robust annual budget and reporting system. The cost controller will lead all elements of expenditure, variation control and cost forecasting to ensure finances are in good order and aligned with work scope requirements.

        

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accurate cost reporting of Opex shutdown, asset integrity and fm budget to include forecast, value of work done and commitments against approved budget.
  • Responsible for set up, control, reporting, and close out of CAPEX minor modifications project WBS / AFE against approved Budgets in SAP Ensure accurate monthly accruals submitted to Finance.
  • Ensuring shared costs are re-allocated as appropriate Provide robust variance analysis.
  • Identifying and supporting opportunities for cost efficiencies whilst maintaining safety and integrity.
  • Monitoring, reviewing and advising on key vendor cost performance.
  • Leading and driving budget meetings with budget holders.

            

Applicants to this role require

  • Experience in the budgeting, forecasting, and cost control of CAPEX Minor Modifications projects and Shutdown (TAR) operations, with hands on experience setting up, controlling, reporting and closing out costs against project WBS / AFE, and by Cost Centre / GL, with a strong understanding of the nuance between each process and method.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

  • Must be a competent SAP user.
  • Must be a competent Microsoft excel user.
