Long term contract role available as Cost Controller to join ambitious Energy organisation with a keen interest in pursuing strategic energy transition opportunities.

     

The Cost Controller will interface directly with budget owners managing a budget of circa £35 million CAPEX and £60 million OPEX with a focus on shutdown scopes and project modifications.

      

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accurate cost reporting of Opex Shutdown, Asset Integrity and FM Budget to include forecast, value of work done and commitments against approved budget.
  • Responsible for setting up, controlling, reporting, and closing out of CAPEX Minor Modifications project WBS/AFE against approved budgets in SAP.
  • Ensuring accurate monthly accruals submitted to Finance.
  • Ensuring shared costs are re-allocated as appropriate, for recharge to Partners.
  • Providing robust variance analysis.
  • Identifying and supporting opportunities for cost efficiencies whilst maintaining safety and integrity.
  • Supporting annual budget build for relevant budget area.
  • Monitoring, reviewing and advising on key vendor cost performance.
  • Leading and driving budget meetings with budget holders.
  • Providing support to Contract Owners and Supply Chain with Supplier Performance Relationship Management (SPRM), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), FPAL evaluations, cost benefit analysis, bid analysis, commercial negotiations, variations, invoice queries/disputes, PO Management, and vendor setup.
  • Championing compliance with supply chain and R2P processes.
  • Participating in all appropriate internal and supplier meetings.
  • Deputise for Cost Engineering Lead as required.

      

Applicants to this role require:

  • Experience in a similar role ideally with exposure to modifications and shutdowns.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Must be a competent SAP user.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Pragmatic.
  • Able to work in a multi-discipline team.
