A Junior Buyer is required on a full-time permanent basis for a company delivering drilling and well services to the energy industry. The role will be based in Blackburn with hybrid working available.

   

As Junior Buyer, you will be responsible for procurement of goods and services to support operations, as well as coordinating the movement of freight.

    

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and processing approved requisitions, raising, and placing of purchase orders, including equipment repairs and equipment rentals, checking order acknowledgements and updating IFS.
  • Coordinating the movement of both domestic and international freight.
  • Communicating with and participate in supplier meetings.
  • Expediting orders, producing IFS Tracker report, and progressing chasing reports.
  • Checking and processing supplier invoices in a timely manner, ensuring contract and pricing compliance.
  • Responsible for raising Transport Orders ensuring traceability of rental equipment being returned to suppliers.
  • Co-ordinating with the offshore platforms, warehouse, maintenance teams on order status, supplier related issues, procurement procedures and problem resolution.
  • Generating reports from IFS, as and when required by the Supply Chain Manager and Maintenance Department.
  • Processing non-conformance reports and have the ability to monitor and manage suppliers’ performance reviews.
  • Assisting the Supply Chain Manager with various sourcing strategies to achieve improvements in quality, safety and cost savings over all commodity groups.
  • Supplier management including resolution of minor contractual issues.
  • Providing Supply Chain Manager with regular updates on supplier performance and project status
  • Carry out special projects as directed by the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Participating in on-call rota.

     

Applicants to this role require:

  • Preferably hold or working towards a qualification in CIPS.
  • Proficient with Windows PC use.
  • Previous experience in Oil and Gas Procurement, Supply Chain.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Punctual. 
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
