Logistics Coordinator required to join our client, based in Portlethen, on a full-time, permanent basis. In your role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and executing logistics activities including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

   

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Coordinating and managing the transportation of goods from suppliers to customers.
  • Working with suppliers and carriers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Managing inventory levels and ensuring accuracy of inventory data.
  • Monitoring and analysing logistics performance metrics and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Working closely with the Operations Team to understand the activity forecast and ensure the job requirements are met.
  • Coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of goods.
  • Preparing shipping and export documentation as required.
  • Assisting with customs compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate records and files.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and optimize logistics performance.
  • Creating POs for procuring tools from Suppliers.
  • Creating FMS Shipping Tickets for shipments to rigs.
  • On call responsibilities as per scheduled rota.

           

Applicants to this role require

  • 1-2 years of experience in logistics coordination, transportation, or related field.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, logistics practices, and inventory management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with any logistics management software.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written and nonverbal communication.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
