Logistics Coordinator - VR/27730
Logistics Coordinator required to join our client, based in Portlethen, on a full-time, permanent basis. In your role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and executing logistics activities including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Coordinating and managing the transportation of goods from suppliers to customers.
- Working with suppliers and carriers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Managing inventory levels and ensuring accuracy of inventory data.
- Monitoring and analysing logistics performance metrics and make recommendations for improvements.
- Working closely with the Operations Team to understand the activity forecast and ensure the job requirements are met.
- Coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of goods.
- Preparing shipping and export documentation as required.
- Assisting with customs compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintaining accurate records and files.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and optimize logistics performance.
- Creating POs for procuring tools from Suppliers.
- Creating FMS Shipping Tickets for shipments to rigs.
- On call responsibilities as per scheduled rota.
Applicants to this role require
- 1-2 years of experience in logistics coordination, transportation, or related field.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, logistics practices, and inventory management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with any logistics management software.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written and nonverbal communication.
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
