Rotating Equipment Engineer – Process Gas Compressors - VR/31244

Currently recruiting for an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer - Process Gas Compressors on a contract basis for an E&P company based in central Aberdeen. It is an initial 12-month contract position, and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.

     

The Rotating Equipment Engineer – Process Gas Compressors will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the delivery of the ambition of sustainably top quartile safe and reliable operations. By providing discipline support to the Onshore Teams to meet the business objectives, with a specific focus on the PGC’s.
  • Driving equipment and system availability through proactive mitigation of equipment and system degradation. Providing active support to front line operations, development and execution of plans for short, medium to long term maintenance and upgrades where required.
  • Undertaking daily monitoring of operational PGC’s.
  • Interfacing with the Operations Team at site, in order to support the operation of PGC packages.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with the company maintenance philosophy, UK safety, environmental and quality systems.
  • Continually reviewing effectiveness of working practices and systems to increase reliability/ availability of rotating equipment.
  • Ensuring all PGC activities are inputted into the integrated activity plan and maintenance management system. Via the IAP, managing and reducing backlog.
  • Ensuring that rotating equipment maintenance records and plant history are updated using SAP.
  • Ensuring capital and consumable spare parts required to support reliable production for rotating equipment are identified, with the minimum and maximum levels managed via SAP.
  • Managing vendor support, to deliver the work safely, on time and cost effectively. This includes preparation of RFQ packages and technical bid evaluations, as well as monitoring vendor progress through regular communication.
  • Driving a mindset of mitigation or elimination of systemic impacts on equipment availability. Suggesting MOC’s if required.
  • Supporting failure and incident investigations/RCA – implementing actions to remove faults and improve reliability.
  • Reviewing and commenting on changes to ops procedures and manuals.
  • Reviewing and commenting on changes to critical documents including P&ID’s.
  • Supporting the ranking and management of facilities risks.
  • Closing out or verifying actions.
  • Reviewing and commenting on repair plans (anomalies/breakdown).
  • Identifying shutdown activities – supporting preparation and executing these activities.
  • Supporting the implementation of the Performance Standards for the delivery of safety critical and routine maintenance.
  • Actively supporting an incident free workplace mindset.

     

Experience/Qualifications:

  • A degree qualification in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly within the North Sea Oil and Gas industry, is essential.
  • Previous experience with Process Gas Compressor (PGC) packages and support systems is essential.
  • Applicants should have extensive maintenance and operations experience within the North Sea Oil and Gas industry.
