TMM Recruitment is working with a major, multi-national energy organisation based in Westhill to bring in a Technology Partner to join the Technical Services Team on a contract basis until November 2023 (with the potential of being extended). The company is only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role and remote working will be available, however there is also a requirement to attend the office in person on a regular basis.

    

Overview

As the company moves toward a more technologically advanced era, a focal entity responsible for technical data performance and technology integration is necessary to avoid innovation being conducted as “solutions in isolation “, governed as a federated model the affiliate shall look to maximise discovery, connection efficiencies, and the effectiveness of autonomous workflows.

   

In response to the company ambition and strategy for data driven performance, the new TDI Team within Technical Services will lead the affiliate in defining and implementing a data foundation through effective data governance.

   

In a fast-paced high evolution domain there is a requirement for continuous improvement and adaptation of new methodologies and competences, whilst complying with the confidentiality and security implications of the data being managed.

    

This role supports the transition from R&D and PoCs to pragmatic and business valuable solutions which are integrated into day-to-day business use. This complements asset or TS Department strategies ensuring deployment supports company priorities, strategy and performance indicators whilst challenging all to use technology to further performance and sustainability goals.

     

Duties and Responsibilities

    

Support and Maintain

  • Maintaining an outline UK Technology vision/strategy, identifying goals necessary for research and development.
  • Through engagement with the wider business, system stakeholders, and company R&D entities formulate and track delivery of a UK federated Technology Roadmap.
  • Supporting the TDI Manager in coordination of the TDI Steering and Validation Committee,
  • On behalf of the company preparing and maintaining in close cooperation with asset stakeholders, the annual Asset Stewardship SE08 – Technology Deployment Submission in support of obligations under the NSTA Strategy (13 and 14 - to deploy new, emerging, and existing technology to optimum effect), and contained with the Technology Roadmap.
  • Leading the deployment of identified Technology solutions (with IS, the Assets and OneTech teams as necessary) – including the physical design and applied application of RAS solutions.
  • Conducting research and identifying technological trends to achieve Strategic Priorities, a competitive advantage, or benefits for the company.

    

Develop and Create

  • Developing a UK Technology Strategy (leveraging third party engagement where necessary).
  • 8 categories as defined by SE08 technology deployment submission.
  • Net Zero.
  • Digital.
  • Deploying an affiliate technology governance model, a transparent process for Technology Management that ensures business ownership, whilst capturing TRL (Technology Readiness Level) progression levels aligned to identified asset savings.
  • Steering investment and budget for TEC with the TDI and IS Team to ensure maximum. efficiencies are achieved without negative impact on the business.
  • Creating internal development and deployment proposals for technologies, ensuring they are costed with clear delivery milestones and KPIs to ensure value for the company.
  • Developing proposals to secure external funding (NZTC, Innovate UK, etc.) for identified company technology projects.

      

Promote and Collaborate

  • Building and maintaining strong partnering relationships with all internal and external stakeholders necessary to achieve delivery against the UK Technology Strategy.
  • Ensuring awareness of and promote the use of technological assets and industry trends to provide insight and opportunities for enhancing internal services for employees and clients/partners/supply chain.
  • Collaborating with TDI leads on communication plans, promote TDI activities across the affiliate to build knowledge, awareness, and alignment.
  • Working in partnership with key stakeholders across the company to implement technology strategies, aligning technological resources with the company's short and long-term needs.

    

The role will build a network (company and external) of technology providers and landscape investors and influencer to ensure that the company is appraised, and able to efficiently valorise the deployment of new technologies.

     

The role will manage the development and deployment of Technology Projects and Programmes.

     

The role is cross functional, operating across both internal and external stakeholders, requiring technical competence, whilst lobbying, and influencing to ensure the anchoring of modern technological operations and practices.

     

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required with the ability to effectively influence stakeholder relationships,

  • The job holder must be qualified to degree level in a STEM subject, with significant years of Industry experience.
  • The ability to explain and present complex technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.
  • Wide career exposure to several technical disciplines (Core Discipline, Development Architecture, or R&D).
  • Extensive knowledge of Group statutory policies and specifications.
  • A working knowledge of the technical background to the relevant metiers, departments, and Assets.
