An urgent requirement for an experienced Commercial Advisor to join a reputable organisation which owns, operates and manages critical energy infrastructure. This is a 6-month contract assignment, starting as soon as possible.

    

As Commercial Advisor, you’ll support the Commercial Director in the performance of commercial activities; including the management of joint venture and third-party agreements, the development and negotiation of new agreements and the delivery of short, medium and long-term business objectives.

     

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing input to the company revenue model.
  • Supporting economic and financial analysis to evaluate business options.
  • Developing and documenting business cases to support decision making.
  • Maximising value for the company from commercial structure and agreements.
  • Liaising with shippers and managing compliance with obligations under existing commercial agreements.
  • Managing the company’s commercial obligations (decommissioning security provisions, annual capacity bookings, tariff calculations, through-put forecasts etc.).
  • Running JV, shipper and other third-party external meetings.
  • Participating in negotiations with shippers and third-parties.
  • Assisting in the management of any contractual disputes.
  • Supporting the creation of the annual plan and budget.
  • Preparing reports, plans and presentations to support performance delivery of commercial activities.

    

Applicants to this position should have experience in a Commercial Advisor capacity (or similar), gained within an oil & gas operator environment. You’ll ideally be degree qualified within a relevant business or technical discipline and a professional qualification or MBA would be desirable. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is IT proficiency (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

     

It’s important you are a skilled negotiator, capable of explaining complex issues to audiences at all levels and across various disciplines. You should also be comfortable in applying sound commercial principles and be able to evaluate incomplete and / or conflicting information, reach sound conclusions, make decisions, and act accordingly.
