Finance Assistant – VR/23862
With a focus on traditional transactional elements and project administrative support, the Finance Assistant will play an important role in delivering operational and financial efficiency for a growing engineering consultancy organisation that services the energy industry.
This role will be an ongoing temporary role with the potential for a transition to permanent staff in the future.
Individuals with a strong background in both accounts payable and receivable and projects are encouraged to apply.
Reporting into the Head of Planning and Reporting, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for the following:
- Maintaining Accounts Receivable ledger in Xero accounting system, including customer master data, posting invoices and processing receipts.
- Uploading sales invoices to banking platform and to client portals.
- Credit control.
- Maintaining Accounts Payable ledger in Xero, including supplier master data, posting invoices and processing payments.
- Bank reconciliations for Current Accounts and Trade Finance Accounts M.E.R (month end reconciliation) for banking platform.
- Preparing and processing self-billing invoices.
- Controlling account reconciliations for contractor time entries and invoice.
- Monthly VAT return.
- Journal entries for accruals and prepayments.
- Project administration.
Individuals should have at least 5 years’ finance experience and be able to demonstrate past capabilities in operating in a busy finance environment, meeting tight deadlines.
