Currently recruiting for an IT Support / Applications Specialist on a permanent staff basis for a company based near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire. Based on the location, a full Driving Licence and access to a car is essential. The IT Support Specialist will provide tier 1, 2 and 3 telephone and on-site support to all users for both application and server related incidents and service requests.

Reporting to the IT Team Leader, the IT Support Specialist will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

    

  • Providing support to all users of hardware, software and IT services, including network connectivity, remote working, mobile and office telephones.
  • Analysing, diagnosing and resolving complex incidents and requests to ensure the most efficient solution is achieved with minimal disruption to IT system users, in line with SLAs.
  • Logging all reported incidents, or service requests, in the IT ticketing system (FreshService).
  • Proactively suggesting cost-effective technical and process improvements, and implementing them via the change control procedure.
  • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
  • Coordinating and supervising external contractors.
  • Providing out of hours cover as part of the on-call rota.

    

Experience / Qualifications:

  • A degree qualification in a relevant IT discipline is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar Applications / Systems / ERP Analyst type role is essential.
  • Experience with ERP systems is essential.
  • Applicants will be expected to possess strong experience in the writing, analysis and debugging of Oracle / SQL.
  • SAP Crystal Report knowledge is preferred.
  • Office 365 administration experience is preferred.

      

    Experience with the majority of the following technologies is preferred:

  • Microsoft Windows Server Administrator 2008/12/16/19.
  • Windows 7, 8 and 10.
  • Cloud technologies e.g. SaaS.
  • VMWare administration and troubleshooting.
  • Antivirus (Symantec).
  • Backup solutions.
  • Patch management systems.
  • SQL Server 2012.
  • Video conferencing.
  • Cisco (CUCM).
  • Mobile device management.
  • AP, GPO, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery.
  • ITIL.
