We are currently on the lookout for a Laboratory Support Technician on a part time basis with circa 25 hours per week. The role can become more full time for the right candidate if desired. The candidate will be working within the Technical Services Team, and the main functions of the role are to support customers with new and existing production chemical applications, including projects and residual analysis.

   

Main Responsibilities:

Residual Analysis

  • Performing residual analysis for customer samples.
  • Report residual analysis results to internal and external customers where required.
  • Helping improve existing residual analytical methods.

    

Project Delivery

  • Performing laboratory testing under supervision, according to agreed scopes of work and timelines.
  • Providing high quality reports of technical work conducted for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting product development and commercialisation of new products for the North Sea region.

    

Quality, Health, Safety and Environment

  • Ensuring that all activities are undertaken according to HSE policy and legislation.
  • Undertaking workplace inspections and reporting safety observations, reporting incidents, accidents and near-misses.
  • To interface with Quality Control in ensuring high product quality is maintained and developed.
  • Ensuring equipment is calibrated according to the laboratory standards.

    

Administration

  • Preparing samples for internal and external customers.
  • Maintaining raw material and crude inventories for the laboratory.
  • Ensuring that the laboratory housekeeping is maintained; including consumables and cleanliness.
  • To be aware of compliance policies and actively promote them.

    

Required Education and Business Experience

  • Education: diploma/certificate in science.
  • Related technical discipline or relevant work experience.
