Currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Composite / Piping / Structural) on a permanent staff basis for an Oil and Gas client based in Aberdeen.

Reporting to the Engineering Technical Authority, the Mechanical Engineer (Composite / Piping / Structural) will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Performing engineering calculations for composite repairs to pipework and structural components.
  • Providing sketches / CAD drawings to support the engineering calculations.
  • Discussing design calculations inputs and outputs with external clients.
  • Assisting in achieving key deliverables in research and development projects.
  • Supporting Sales, Operations and Technicians with day to day technical enquiries.
  • Attending Client meetings where technical presence and expertise is required.

Education / Experience:

  • A relevant Degree qualification in Engineering - or equivalent experience working in a piping, structural or composite engineering role - is essential.
  • Experience of working with ISO 24817, ASME PCC-2 article 4.1 standards is essential.
  • Previous, specific and recent experience within a similar Mechanical Engineer type role within the Oil and Gas Industry is essential.
  • Applicants will be expected to possess knowledge of composite materials and the different processes involved in their use.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Excel and CAD / Drawing packages is essential.
  • This role would suit an Engineer who is in the early stages of their Engineering career and the client is ideally looking to take on a candidate who has around five years’ worth of overall engineering experience within the Oil and Gas Industry.
