Operational QHSE Officer - VR/29121

Join our waste management client who are looking for an Operational QHSE Officer on a permanent staff basis for their office in Altens, Aberdeen.

     

This position is a varied one, which covers all aspects of work within the company and Group of companies in respect of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ).

        

This is an operational role that will involve site visits, audits and inspections along with control of all PPE/RPE Issue, service and calibration of all safety critical equipment.

          

As the Operational QHSE Officer, you will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing support to Line Management on all matters regarding HSEQ.
  • Providing support to Line Management and workforce on safe systems of work via discussions and the preparing risk assessments and method statements.
  • Carrying out regular audits of all company operations – both onsite and offsite at client premises. Typing reports and feedback into QHSE Department – reporting any failings to line management.
  • Carrying out daily inspections of site operations and record findings.
  • Completing competency assessments on personnel both onsite and offsite and client premises. Typing reports and feedback into QHSE Department.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents and complaints, administrating and monitoring the CAIN System along with QHSE Department.
  • Liaising with company Doctor on company medical matters.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the company provided PPE, RPE and safety equipment including maintaining the Safety Equipment and PLS Register to ensure all equipment is certified and fit for use.
  • Attending and assisting in all disciplinary meetings as requested.
  • Maintaining clear and concise documentation in all matters regarding this role.
  • Monitoring and auditing internal and external TIS operational work activities and leading/assisting in client and certification audits – ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, FPAL etc.
  • Managing the company competence training matrix; ensuring personnel are trained within the predefined timescales. Arranging refresher training when required through tracking in the training matrix and certification expiration dates.
  • Preparing, planning, participating and monitoring all audit processes as required.
  • Maintaining a continuous review of all Company policies, procedures, forms and Risk Assessment/Method Statements. Updating current, and instigate new documents as required.

        

Key experience/Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role is essential.
  • A NEBOSH or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • An auditing qualification would be preferred.
