Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly management accounts, including profit & loss statements, cash flow summaries, and revenue/cost breakdowns.
• Analysing financial performance, monitor margins, and provide insight to support operational decision-making.
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting, maintaining rolling projections and tracking performance against plans.
• Maintaining accounting records, including sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliations, journals, accruals, and prepayments.
• Processing supplier payments, record payroll journals, and manage payroll-related entries.
• Administering pension contributions and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Preparing VAT calculations and support submissions in line with statutory requirements.
• Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, liaising with external accountants where necessary.
• Monitoring operating costs, review expenses, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Supporting financial reporting for projects and funding, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

About You

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
• Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel and proficiency with accounting software.
• Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, payroll, pensions, and VAT.
• Analytical, highly organised, and able to provide clear financial insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
