Currently recruiting for an experienced Business Systems Analyst on a permanent staff basis for an Oil and Gas company based near Turriff in Aberdeenshire. Based on the location, a full Driving Licence and access to a car is essential. Reporting to the IT Manager, the Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for supporting the business across all applications currently in use. The successful candidate will work with the business to identify systems and processes which could improve business efficiency, and he / she will work with the team to prepare business cases for investment in this respect. The post holder will act as the focal point for the development and implementation of new systems and processes. The Business Systems Analyst will be required to manage all applications and databases, with a particular focus on Power BI.

The Business Systems Analyst will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the support, development and maintenance of applications in accordance with agreed standards / Service Level Agreements.
  • Maintaining the Power BI dashboard(s) and roll out software updates, as issued by Microsoft.
  • Implementation of SharePoint.
  • Provide a consistent level of support, as outlined in SLA, to all users across the business.
  • Respond to system tickets in agreed timescale, as per SLA.
  • Deliver projects to timescales agreed by, and with, the project owner.
  • Oversee, with input and support from relevant departments, affected data held in Company C-SAM and review data quality on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that all changes, updates and necessary information are captured electronically in relevant server folders.
  • Undertake monthly reviews and maintenance checks across C-SAM and other business systems (e.g. Power BI, ETM etc).
  • Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot system issues.
  • Set up and removal of new starters for C-SAM.
  • Manage and ensure that all warranties associated with system tools and support agreements are up-to-date and renewals are managed accordingly.
  • Provide and update business systems’ user guides e.g. C-SAM, ETM, etc.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Applicants will be expected to possess a relevant Degree qualification in a Computing / IT discipline.
  • ITIL certification would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar Business Applications / Systems Analyst type role is essential.
  • Experience in the delivery and support of Asset Management Software is essential.
  • Applicants will be expected to possess experience of providing assistance across a wide range of applications / systems.
  • Experience of delivering and supporting SQL is essential.
  • Previous experience with the creation and implementation of new systems and system enhancements is essential.
  • Applicants will be expected to possess knowledge of reporting / dashboard solutions.
