Contracts Specialist / Lead Contracts Specialist – VR/24709

TMM Recruitment is partnered with a reputable industry leader, with a track record of success spanning more than 3 decades, to support the recruitment of a Contracts Specialist (or Lead Contracts Specialist).


In your new role, you will be responsible for the administration of all tender and contract-related interfaces, with the aim of extracting maximum value from the company’s business relationships.


Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Developing suitable contract and commercial qualifications, in accordance with the company terms and conditions matrix.
  • Timely collation of tender documents.
  • Close-out of commercial and contract clarifications during negotiation.
  • Verifying that contracts are as agreed and handing over to Project Team as required.
  • Tendering, evaluating and negotiating contracts.
  • Preparing and submitting subcontract commitment requests.
  • Maintaining an awareness of project schedule, ensuring timely order placement.
  • Managing and resolving commercial disputes with clients and subcontractors.
  • Providing commercial and contractual advice to other departments.
  • Agreeing work estimates with the Project Team and finance.
  • Administering the commercial and contractual aspects of contracts.
  • The efficient review, preparation, negotiation and execution of variation orders.
  • Project close-out activities.
  • Developing accurate tender and budget spreadsheets.
  • Timely preparation of tenders and budgets for submission


Applicants to this position should offer significant experience in a contract / tendering role, ideally gained within the oil & gas or shipping industries.


You will also need strong commercial awareness, the ability to negotiate with clients / subcontractors and should be comfortable working in a team environment to meet strict deadlines.
