Currently recruiting for an experienced IT Business Analyst (Business Applications) on a contract basis for an Oil and Gas company based in Aberdeen. The contract will initially last until the end of the year and the client is ideally looking to take on someone who is available at short notice.

Reporting to the Business Applications Team Lead, the IT Business Analyst will provide business analysis and project management skills to ensure the successful delivery of a range of IT projects related to Oil and Gas Business Systems.  The IT Business Analyst will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Business analysis and project management.
  • Acting as a key interface with business users by defining new requirements or enhancing existing solutions.
  • Business process re-engineering.
  • Business Application testing, training, change management and go-live activities.
  • Software Solution / Supplier selection.
  • Vendor coordinating and negotiating (i.e. raising, validating and managing requests on behalf of business users).

Education / Experience:

  • A Degree qualification in a relevant IT discipline would be highly desirable.
  • A Business Analysis British Computer Society qualification would be preferred.
  • A Project Management PRINCE 2 qualification would be preferred.
  • Previous and specific experience in an IT Business Analyst type role within the Oil and Gas Industry is essential.
  • Previous experience of working within a similar role directly with an Oil and Gas Operator would be highly desirable.
  • Experience of working with various Business Applications is essential.
  • Applicants will be expected to possess experience with Information Security & GDPR regulations.
  • Applicants will be expected to have experience of commercial engagement with suppliers during software tender evaluations.
  • Knowledge of IT technical landscapes related to infrastructure would be advantageous.
