Maintenance Assistant (Facilities Maintenance/Handyperson) - VR/23556
A position has arisen for a Maintenance Assistant on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will provide maintenance support as and when required and the main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Actioning any outstanding Maintenance requests
- Ensuring that all tasks are carried out in a timely manner
- Maintaining good HSE working practices at all times
- Replacing bulbs and fluorescent tubes when required
- Carrying out joinery or plumbing tasks
- Relocating office equipment
- Daily oiling of machines
- Daily compressor and air receiver checks
- Replacing air filters on machines
- Weekly water checks for Legionella management system
- General labouring as and when required including painting, small concrete / brick work, forklift driving
- Driving duties to collect or deliver materials
- Assisting mechanical and electrical personnel as required
- Gardening / landscape duties
- Snow clearing and gritting
Minimum requirements:
- Previous experience within a similar role
- Health and Safety conscious
- Good communication skills
- Valid UK driving licence
Preferred requirements:
- Valid forklift licence
- Manual handling
- IPAF
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing / hotel maintenance / facilities environment
- Someone who also has experience in water checks (don’t need to be certified), cherry pickers, forklifts, and PAT testing would be advantageous.
- The department is busy at the moment, mainly with painting and decorating, office / furniture moves, and the role would also involve very early mornings gritting of the carparks and walkways as / when required over winter.
