Currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer (C&I) on a contract basis for an E&P company based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. It is a contract position that will initially run until the end of March 2024, and they are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.

                

The primary function of this position is the delivery of an optimised C&I preventative maintenance programme on 3 operated assets.  The Maintenance Engineer (C&I) will be responsible for reviewing C&I maintenance execution and effectiveness history and making proposals to optimise activity and frequency.  The post holder will act as one of the main focal points for the implementation of sanctioned C&I changes in the company’s CMMS system (SAP).

             

The company are looking for an instrument and control professional who has a strong maintenance support background within an operating environment, as well as broader systems engineering experience.  A key element of this role is being able to manipulate data within a CMMS environment, and prior SAP experience is highly preferred, but they can consider someone who has extensive experience in another CMMS system (i.e., Maximo).  This role isn’t front line ops support but is more involved in reviewing plant maintenance routines, understanding maintenance strategies, what’s been done in the past and working out future strategies.

           

Reporting to the Lead Maintenance Engineer, the Maintenance Engineer (C&I) will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Reviewing C&I preventative maintenance routines for suitability and makes recommendations for optimisation.
  • Facilitating C&I Maintenance Strategy Review Workshops.
  • Improving asset equipment availability and reliability using current RCM techniques.
  • Undertaking equipment criticality assessments in accordance with company standards.
  • Undertaking equipment critical spares analysis in accordance with company standards.
  • Reviewing and updating equipment Bills of Material.
  • Developing C&I maintenance strategies to meet business goals and, where appropriate, ensure standardisation of maintenance strategy application.
  • Participating in the cleansing of the existing transactional data.
  • Participating in obsolescence reviews.
  • Implementing effective maintenance programme master data in company CMMS.

          

Experience / Qualifications:

  • A relevant engineering degree qualification would be preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer status would be preferred.
  • A recognised RCM qualification would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar C&I Maintenance Engineer type role, within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly with an E&P company / operator, would be preferred.
  • Experience of project and change management is essential.
  • Prior experience in master data manipulation with SAP would be highly preferred, but experience in another CMMS system (i.e. Maximo) can be considered.
