Operations Engineer – Interventions - VR/29767
Currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Engineer - Interventions on a permanent staff basis for an oil and gas service company based in Kintore, Aberdeenshire. This role will involve occasional offshore/field/international travel - therefore applicants must be willing to do this.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, UK, the Operations Engineer will have the following main duties & responsibilities:
- Providing technical assurance to both client and company personnel as required.
- Providing technical support and assurance to all company regional entities as required.
- Assisting with the management of the asset fleet.
- Assisting with the development of new systems and technology.
- Managing all aspects of project work and ensure that the work delivered adheres to company quality procedures, international codes, client requirements and specifications.
- Managing and coordinating efficiency improvement projects.
- Assisting in the creation and approval of training materials and standard operating procedures.
- Preparing standards for operations to support the improvement of the global standardisation process.
- Assisting with commercial support on opportunities, proposals and tenders.
Workshop/Field Support:
- Asset overhauls/maintenance.
- Builds.
- Testing.
- FAT
- Field.
Standard Documentation & Training Materials:
- Creating, revision, development and standardisation.
Technical Support for Projects:
- Document updates and reviews.
- Risk reviews.
- Operational (site) planning.
- NCI support.
- Field support/on call support.
- Attending design/operations meetings.
Product Development
- Inputting to, and reviewing of, product development activities.
- Managing the preventative maintenance programmes for intervention products.
- Reliability monitoring.
- Designing support.
Operations Department Support
- Stock management.
- Assisting with training as required.
- Creating manufacturing requests as required.
- Creating ERFs/ECRs as required.
- Creating ATRF’s as required.
- Conducting equipment trials as required.
- CAPEX creation for new asset/asset improvement.
- Managing CAPEX projects.
- Managing upgrade projects.
- Asset management and tracking.
- Asset maintenance records.
- Creating/reviewing/approving intervention training material.
- Supporting interventions training activities with Regional Teams.
- Improving projects.
Experience/Qualifications:
- A Degree qualification in a Mechanical Engineering discipline, or similar, would be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar Operations Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
- Applicants will be expected to be time served, experienced technicians who have experience with similar hardware.
- Applicants should have project, client, and supplier management experience.
- Applicants should have research and development experience.
- Experience with intervention equipment is essential.
- Experience with hot tap machines would be preferred.
