Planning Engineer - VR/29691
Currently recruiting for an experienced Planning Engineer on a permanent staff basis for an oil and gas service company based in Cove, Aberdeen.
The Planning Engineer is responsible for detailed schedules, material requirements, and production and capacity plans whilst assisting the Planning Function and maintaining a smooth and efficient flow of all operations within the manufacturing facility, incorporating manufacturing and service and repair. To assist with efficient workflow and, as far as possible, on-time delivery to customers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing SOC’s and Production Requests from all Internal Departments and sales/internal sales, creating routings and raising work orders to manufacture required items and sub-items.
- Assisting with ongoing and future implementations and planning process improvements.
- Resolving ERP system related issues and ensures the integrity of the database.
- Scheduling all planned work through factory planning scheduling system, liaising with Inventory Controller, Stores And Materials Department to issue and deliver materials to production in a timely manner.
- Reviewing current capacity booked for live jobs and providing lead times to Sales and Internal Departments.
- Supporting the Senior Planning Manager in various analyses and other tasks.
- Using Glovia ERP/MRP system, interrogating stock levels and aligning expected completion date with capacity availability.
- Liaising where necessary with Customers/Sub–Contractors.
- Creating, maintaining, and reviewing master routings and BOMs.
- Coordinating within the Planning Department and arranging shop orders for all top-line part numbers and shop floor documentation.
- Coordinating and working with Quality, Engineering and Production and all other internal customers as necessary to ensure on-time delivery by monitoring schedules and proactively identify and address any issues upfront.
- Liaising with Materials, Sales and other responsible teams/departments regarding material procurement and free issue goods.
- Monitoring and maintaining WIP through daily planning and production meetings.
- Liaising with Machine Shop, welding and materials to ensure demands can be fulfilled and liaise on a regular basis with QA Department and Engineering or other responsible teams/departments regarding inspection criteria and drawings.
Applicants to this role require:
- Experience in the practical application of ERP/MRP logic, scheduling logic, capacity planning, routings, and manufacturing strategies.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a team player and have sound judgement.
- Must have strong attention to detail with proven capabilities in handling multiple priorities.
- High level of competency in using Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Microsoft Projects.
