Currently recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer for a global provider of specialist engineering, inspection, operations and maintenance services to the oil and gas, renewables and industrial markets. It is a permanent staff position, and the post holder will be based out of the company’s Bridge of Don office in Aberdeen. Hybrid working opportunities will be available after completion of a 3-month probationary period.

    

The Project Engineer will be responsible for business promotion and establishment, business administration and project engineering support.

     

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, the Project Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

       

Business Promotion & Establishment:

  • Providing a support function all aspect of cranes, lifting and support service activities.
  • Contributing to the establishment sales effort, through direct client contact and meetings, with particular focus on target customers as defined within the establishment business plan.
  • Assisting with compilation and cost control of the business unit budgets and, in conjunction with the Engineering Services Manager, identify areas for business development.
  • Contributing to quarterly performance reviews with line management regarding the department’s services to enable accurate review of business unit performance.
  • When undertaking visits to site or offshore installations, promoting, and maintaining effective communications with client representatives and company offshore personnel.

      

Business Administration:

  • Providing an administration and technical support function to the business unit for all service area activities.
  • Responsible for assisting with the regular and correct compilation and condition monitoring of information relating to all aspects of the allocated projects.

      

Project Engineering:

  • Preparing proposals and tenders.
  • Administrating assigned project files.
  • Liaising with clients and subcontractors.
  • Preparing calculations and work procedures.
  • Completing purchase requisitions.
  • Arranging equipment dispatch and transportation.
  • Compiling job close-out reports.
  • Preparing engineering invoice drafts and financial control of assigned projects.

     

Experience / Qualifications:

     

Essential:

  • An HND or Degree qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience in a similar Project Engineer type role within the North Sea oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in dealing with the commercial and management aspects of project engineering.

     

Desirable:

  • Attainment or working towards a professional accreditation with an appropriate institute.
  • Previous experience with cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Previous experience in a heavy plant and / or maintenance environment.
