Senior Category Specialist (Logistics) - VR/23586
Join an independent E&P company on a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave. As Senior Category Specialist, you’ll play an important role within the Procurement and Supply Chain function, with particular focus on the logistics category.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- This role will be leading the materials category, integrating supply quality and assurance. The Senior Category Specialist works closely with the Operations and Maintenance Teams and with internal / external third parties.
- The Senior Category Specialist monitors the performance of the material supply chain products and the category overall. This involves using and analysing complex data to determine supply performance reports.
- Proactively developing robust sourcing strategies for Aviation, Marine and Warehouse Logistics, delivering breakthrough results and year-on-year continuous improvement.
- Sourcing and procuring a range of goods and services across the category, ensuring optimum value for money within defined service and quality criteria.
- Within the Category Management framework, developing, building and maintaining supplier engagement through appraisal and performance monitoring, value analysis, continuous improvement, supplier / supply base development, compliance and demand management.
- Resolving contractual and supplier disputes where they occur, protecting the interests of the business at all times. Engaging the Legal Team if required and gaining remedial / recompense for the business if appropriate.
- Developing and maintaining strong positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring their requirements are understood and being addressed and that communication channels with them are clear and effective.
Applicants to this position should have a detailed understanding of SAP ERP Materials Management. You’ll need extensive knowledge of end-to-end Category Management processes and principles, with a proven track record of working on a category through the whole lifecycle.
You’ll ideally be degree qualified and hold an MCIPS certificate (or equivalent).
Excellent communication, relationship management and analytical skills are required.
