Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Fire Equipment Engineer, based in Aberdeen on a permanent basis.

     

Duties and Responsibilities:

    

  • Servicing of portable fire equipment and fire systems including deluge, gaseous, water mist and foam systems.
  • Servicing of respiratory protection equipment including breathing apparatus, escape sets, airline equipment and smoke hoods.
  • Servicing and calibration of portable gas detection equipment (various manufacturers).
  • Servicing, testing, inspection and recertification of safety equipment (life rafts, lifejackets, fire equipment etc.).
  • Fabrication of gaseous and water mist systems.
  • PRV testing and cross calibration of gauges and pressure testing of pipework.
  • Assisting in the collation of survey data to support engineering projects.
  • Liaising with customer to advise completion of work, content of any remedial issues and agreed course of action.
  • Production of a detailed and comprehensive reports and fact sheets at job completion.
  • Assisting in the collation of survey data to support engineering projects.
  • Coach and advise utilising the "workshop manual" to encourage and train others to gain valuable service experience.
  • Working with marine administration staff and managers to review and manage all projects, services to meet deadlines and complete certification.
  • Ensure vehicle is always fully equipped for service jobs.
  • Safe dismantling of equipment for disposal as per company risk assessments.
  • Deployment of H2S equipment in support of drilling or production operations including containerised high-pressure breathing air compressor systems

    

Required Experience & Qualifications:

   

  • Time-served apprenticeship or qualified to HNC/HND level in Fire Equipment related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a similar role within Fire Safety industry.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a client/customer facing role.
  • Sound communication skills (written and oral) with ability to communicate technical requirements of the role with all levels of the business.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy skills whilst working under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritise own work and demonstrate a pro-active and flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.
  • Computer literate in all Microsoft packages.
