We are seeking a skilled and experienced MIG Welder on an ongoing contract basis. As a MIG Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components using MIG welding techniques. This position requires a high level of expertise in MIG welding and the ability to work independently while adhering to quality and safety standards. Main duties and responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
  • Setting up and operating MIG welding equipment, ensuring proper settings and adjustments.
  • Preparing metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and/or shaping them as necessary.
  • Positioning and securing workpieces using clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Performing welding operations using MIG welding techniques to join metal components accurately and efficiently.
  • Inspecting welds for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting welding defects, such as porosity, cracks, or incomplete fusion, and taking corrective measures.
  • Maintaining welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.

          

Applicants to this role require

  • Proven experience as a MIG Welder, preferably in a similar industry or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in MIG welding techniques, with the ability to produce high-quality welds consistently
  • In-depth knowledge of welding equipment setup and operation, including adjustments and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
