Well Intervention Engineer - VR/30225
Currently recruiting for an experienced Well Intervention Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in Westhill, Aberdeenshire. It is a contract position that is due to run until July 2025, and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.
The Well Intervention Engineer will play an important role in optimising well intervention operations and ensuring that designs and programmes are fit-for-purpose. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the company’s platform and subsea operated well interventions across all assets.
Reporting to the Lead Well Intervention Engineer, the Well Intervention Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Providing engineering and technical solutions to well intervention challenges by positively participating in multi-disciplinary teams in well planning preparation, peer reviews, risk assessment and execution of operations in a timely manner.
- Preparing well intervention designs/programmes/end of well reports and coordinate other specialist inputs.
- Interfacing appropriately with assets and other Drilling/Wells entities to ensure well intervention requests are promptly and accurately prepared.
- Actively participating in performance monitoring, analysis and reporting.
- Working with Superintendents to ensure that all services are planned and performed in a safe manner, to the required standard using good oilfield practice.
- Developing estimated cost and duration for interventions or elements of specific operations. Following the status of WTI contracts and WTI expenditures.
- Initiating and preparing CFTs with concerned personnel when required.
- As required, performing visits and audits of service companies, with a focus on contractor equipment and company owned equipment stored by the service companies.
- Performing offshore visits as required to support offshore operations.
Experience/Qualifications:
- A relevant Engineering degree qualification would be preferred.
- IWCF Level 4 certification is essential.
- Current/valid offshore certification would be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar Well Intervention Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea Oil and Gas industry, is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role, directly with a North Sea-based E&P Company/Operator, would be preferred.
- Frac/stimulation design experience would be preferred.
