Accounts Assistant - VR/31335
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a busy team on a 6-month contract. This varied role involves supporting day-to-day financial tasks, including Credit Control, purchase and sales ledger. You will play a key part in ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date and work closely with colleagues across departments to resolve queries efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the upkeep of accurate and current sales ledger accounts.
- Posting incoming payments to the sales ledger.
- Supporting the collection of overdue balances.
- Responding to customer account queries in a timely manner.
- Checking, coding, and posting purchase invoices accurately for assigned suppliers.
- Investigating and resolving purchase ledger issues in collaboration with other teams.
- Reconciling supplier statements regularly to maintain accuracy.
- Ensuring all ledger transactions comply with internal procedures.
- Providing cover and general support across the finance department when needed.
- Maintaining clear and organising records to support audits and reporting.
About You:
- Able to prioritise tasks and manage a busy workload effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Previous experience in office-based finance roles, ideally with credit control experience.
- Comfortable working within systems-driven environments, ideally with some exposure to ERP software.
