A dynamic global procurement company is on the hunt for a driven Assistant Buyer and Buyer to join their team! Reporting directly to the Procurement Team Lead, Operations Manager, and General Manager, you'll play a key role in managing client contracts with a proactive and results-driven approach.

     

As Assistant Buyer/Buyer you will contribute to the company’s approach to ethical procurement ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the supply chain cycle.

      

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Souring and supplying goods/services in line with client KPI’s.
  • Seeking new suppliers to enhance supply chain and ensuring pre-qualification questionnaires are completed accordingly.
  • Negotiating costs and payment terms with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery and technical standards are met.
  • Ensuring the procurement process operate in line with company QHSE standards, policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring queries are resolved promptly whether internal or external.
  • Ensuring customs paperwork is provided in a timely manner.
  • Searching and utilising client surplus stock for all RFQ’s received.
  • Sourcing eco-friendly alternative products and offering to customers.
  • Ensuring customer feedback is received on a monthly basis to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively contributing to creating a good team atmosphere.
  • Assisting with tender pricing as and when required ensuring market competitiveness.
  • Ensuring systems are up to date at all times.
  • Assisting credit controller to resolve client and supplier invoice queries in a timely manner.
  • Developing customer relations with new and existing clients and attending internal marketing meetings.
  • Regularly attending and participating in a positive and constructive way in client meetings.
  • Managing client complaints and problem solving where needed prior to be escalated.

     

Applicants for this role require:

  • Previous purchasing experience.
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems.
