TMM Recruitment is supporting an international offshore energy employer with an Assistant Buyer role.

          

This is a permanent position based in Blackdog with the likelihood of the role moving to Dyce.

         

The successful candidate will have experience of procurement and logistics, preferably in the offshore oil and gas industry or with vessel related experience.

           

As Assistant Buyer, you will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services with the aim of extracting maximum value from the company’s relationship with its vendors.

        

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Issuing and ensuring completion of accurate vendor mater file requests.
  • Sending out RFQs and negotiating with suppliers.
  • Creating purchase orders.
  • Ensuring that all demands and POs are actioned in a timely fashion.
  • Creating and issuing of supply chain reports.
  • Maintaining, filing, and archiving of company documents and records.
  • Ensuring accurate specification of certification required from vendors.
  • Liaising with the accounting function for invoice queries.
  • Assisting in logistical arrangements with stores personnel.
  • Involvement in department meetings and improvement initiatives.

            

Applicants to this role required:

  • Experience of working with electronic purchasing systems.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills, ability to manage workload and carry out tasks with little supervision.
  • Good numerical/analytical skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft and other software packages.
  • Experience of procurement and logistics, preferably in the offshore oil and gas industry and/or with some vessel related experience.
