Currently recruiting for an experienced Brownfield & Inter-array Cable (IAC) Package Lead on a contract basis for an E&P Company based in Westhill, Aberdeenshire. It is a project position, and the contract is anticipated to run for 2 years. The company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role and hybrid working opportunities will be available.

    

Working within the Projects and Engineering Team, the successful candidate will work on an Offshore Floating Wind Pilot (OFWP) project.  The OFWP project’s objectives are to qualify one of the highest potential semi-submersible floater designs of the floating wind industry, with an ambitious planning of a start-up in 2025.  The Brownfield & IAC Package Lead will be responsible for the safe and efficient completion of the following activities:

  • Delivering all aspects of the asset’s brownfield modifications required to integrate the floating wind pilot project and hybridise the asset’s power management system.
  • Delivering the inter-array cable, complete with ancillaries in line with project design and functional requirements, for installation by the floater and mooring EPCIC.
  • Pull-in and tie-in of IAC in spare CPF J-tube, including removal of J-tube subsea blind flange.

                    

In addition to the above, the Brownfield & IAC Package Lead will support effective interface management between the 2 packages and asset operations, as well as the floater and Wind Turbine Generator packages.

               

Reporting to the Projects & Engineering Manager, the Brownfield & IAC Package Lead will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Project Leader with the effective project handover to ensure seamless continuity between FEED and start of detailed design.
  • Responsible for ensuring all assigned activities are undertaken in accordance with project Statement of Requirements (SOR), applicable company rules and group specifications.
  • Ensuring the Brownfield and IAC package scope objectives are defined and achieved in terms of planning, cost and risks.
  • Identifying and supporting effective interface management between brownfield contractor, IAC package contractor and company.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring decisions are made in full understanding of asset integrity and major accident hazard management, demonstrating to the wider business that risks from major accident hazards are being managed.
  • Contributing to effective risk management of assigned studies/project – including, but not limited to, HAZIDs, HAZOPs and HIRA.
  • Ensuring that QA/QC systems are used to assure project quality and supplier quality plans.
  • Ensuring compliance of deliverables with the project delivery process.
  • Contributing to internal reporting (technical reports, portfolio management, budget tracking, etc.) and presentations to management.

         

Experience / Qualifications:

  • A degree qualification in an engineering discipline is essential.
  • Chartered Engineer status would be preferred.
  • A Project Management qualification would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar Project Manager/Package Lead type role, directly within the North Sea oil and gas/subsea sectors, is essential.
  • Extensive offshore experience, covering Brownfield modifications and subsea projects, is essential.
  • A proven track record in the delivery of brownfield modifications, as well as the delivery of IAC and subsea umbilicals of flexible pipe for static and dynamic applications, is essential.
