A Buyer is required for a company delivering services to the energy and infrastructure industries. The position is based in Bucksburn with hybrid working available.

     

As Buyer, you will be required to obtain the best value for the company’s procurement activities.

     

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Purchasing and expediting of company’s requirements.
  • Receiving requests for procurement and clarifying and understanding requirements through interaction and communication with the business lines.
  • Obtaining quotes from suppliers, analysing and clarifying where appropriate.
  • Sourcing materials and services for business line operation and project.
  • Ensuring full compliance and understanding of the company ERP system.
  • Providing requester with quotes, make recommendations on best quote/supplier to use and highlight any risks identified with supplier’s offers.
  • Whenever possible ensure that the company’s terms and conditions of purchase are utilised.
  • Ensuring any purchase are in line with Supplier Frame Agreements.
  • Expediting as and when required, to ensure suppliers adhere to price, delivery and any other PO commitments.
  • Data inputting of purchasing requirements on PO to allow accurate analysis.
  • Allocating cost codes to appropriate cost centres.
  • Participating in supplier reviews and audits.
  • Identifying opportunities and delivering cost savings across all procurement activity.
  • Negotiating best value with suppliers.
  • Replenishing, monitoring and controlling of company stock, reviewing stock levels, spend patterns and taking appropriate actions.
  • Reviewing spend data for specific commodity and/or item types and make recommendations for action to the Procurement Team Lead.
  • Maintaining the company Approved Vendor List.
  • Assisting with maintenance of price lists and take action on proposed price list increases.
  • Ensuring any invoice referrals are promptly resolved.

      

Applicants to this role require:

  • Previous purchasing experience.
  • CIPS qualification (not essential).
  • Ability to identify the best approach from a number of options.
  • Ability to demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to demonstrate a calm and systematic approach.
  • Ability to perform most tasks with minimum supervision.
