Permanent Buyer position within the procurement and supply chain function of a leading organisation in the energy services sector, based in Aberdeen. This role will suit an experienced procurement professional seeking to manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and support continuous improvement across materials, goods, and services.

     

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Leading procurement activity across goods, materials, and services.
  • Negotiating supplier contracts to drive value and reduce costs.
  • Mentoring and supporting the Purchasing Administrator and Buyers.
  • Conducting supplier performance reviews and manage vendor approvals.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to support operational and project requirements.
  • Managing stock levels and supporting production demand.
  • Overseeing logistics strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Deputising for the Supply Chain Manager when required.

      

Applicants to this role require:

  • CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of transportation management systems and import/export compliance.
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiation and relationship management.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems.
  • A proactive and resilient approach, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
