Commercial Adviser - VR/29862
Join an independent oil and gas company in Aberdeen as a Commercial Advisor, driving strategic commercial initiatives on a contract basis until the end of April 2025. Maximise value, manage risks, and negotiate high-quality agreements in compliance with regulatory standards.
The purpose of this role is to progress the commercial aspects of the business and deliver optimal commercial solutions. You will focus on maximising value in its various forms, appropriately managing risk, negotiating new high-quality commercial arrangements, or amending existing agreements in accordance with legislative and government guidance. Conflict identification, management, and resolution are integral aspects of this role.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensuring day-to-day management of operational commercial agreements for assets.
- Identifying opportunities for value optimisation and risk management to secure incremental value and mitigate risks.
- Ensuring stakeholders are aware of compliance obligations and responsibilities, enforcing or performing rights and obligations as allocated.
- Resisting any risk to contractual rights through stakeholder management and escalation where necessary.
- Proposing amendments to commercial agreements, negotiating with relevant support.
- Consulting with stakeholders on agreements, disputes, amendments, and interpretations.
- Supporting implementation of agreements through thorough handovers and tracking obligations.
- Safeguarding business-critical information and documentation.
- Providing relevant information to stakeholders on commercial intent, value enhancement opportunities, and key risks.
- Supporting business development activities as required.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in a similar Commercial Advisor role with an oil and gas operator/E&P company.
- Performance-focused with a strong commercial mindset and agility in problem-solving.
- Demonstrable stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and learn from others.
- Ability to recognise connections between issues and develop overviews, proposing solutions in changing circumstances.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to form strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders.
- Results-oriented with enthusiasm for improving business performance.
- Alignment with industry values and business principles.
