Overview:

The Project Manager will be required to scope, manage and deliver the relocation of the Aberdeen on-prem data centre to the Azure Cloud. The Aberdeen data centres are currently running on end of serviceable life hardware. Neptune’s policy is to transfer these to the public Azure cloud or Neptune’s private cloud. In scope for this project are the Aberdeen Office Datacentre, External Datacentre (back up for Aberdeen) and software upgrades where it eliminates security risks and provides improved application and infrastructure performance. Out of scope for this project are software upgrades where they are not necessary for migration and anything arising in the London Office.

Duties, Responsibilities and Deliverables:

• Business case and project brief refinement.
• Project start-up, prepare and create landing zones in Azure / Cegal.
• Establishing redundant connection of landing zones with Cygnus.
• Datacentre monitoring for analysis, scope and planning.
• Arranging for adequate user rights TCS and Cegal team. 
• Migrating Officenet applications to Azure. 
• Creating new office network for Aberdeen office.
• Migrating legacy domain applications to azure / Cegal hybrid cloud.
• Decommissioning hosts. 
• Removal of hardware from Aberdeen office.
• Formal Project closure sign off and hand over to IT operations.
• Fully plan and scope the detail of the data centre relocation as phase 1 of the project.
• Providing a full business plan for relocation including all project requirements, delivery timelines and costs.
• Creating detailed project plans to guide clients, staff members and Project Teams and revising based on changing needs and requirements.
• Managing vendors to ensure on time on budget delivery of their services.
• Compiling and submitting project status reports to clients, management and other stakeholders.
• Working effectively with relevant stakeholders for efficient project implementation.
• Running the project board to align on priorities for delivery.
• Delivering the Aberdeen data centre relocation on time and on budget.
• Internal and external stakeholders; Clients Services Manager and network, IT Operations organisation, company vendors.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Experienced and suitably qualified Project Manager with exposure to the delivery of IT and IS focused projects, skilled in agile delivery methodologies. (Ideally Prince2 qualified or equivalent).
• Previous experience in IT Project Delivery and working to tight deadlines.
• Demonstrable experience of similar IT projects.
• Experienced in delivering complex and technically challenging IT projects and programmes.
• Experienced and skilled in working with 3rd party providers to ensure delivery of all project scopes.
• Excellent communication skills – must have experience of communicating up to senior management level within an organisation.
• Effective and efficient stakeholder management.
