Draughtsperson - VR/30863

Currently recruiting for an experienced Draughtsperson on a permanent staff basis for an oil and gas service company based in Cove, Aberdeen.

     

Reporting to the Lead Draughtsperson, the Draughtsperson will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Developing general arrangement, machining, fabrication and proposal drawings and BOM’s in line with company standards.
  • Performing dimensional checks of drawings to ensure they are correct and done to the company standard.
  • Creating and checking part numbers and Bills of Material (BOM’s) in Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) software.
  • Creating and checking product datasheets.
  • Revising existing drawings, datasheets and part numbers as required.
  • Liaising with Engineers, Machine Shop, Welding, QA and Sales Departments.
  • Draughting accurate product profiles or 3D models for the purposes of engineering analysis work and machine shop programming.
  • Ensuring all records are kept up to date and in line with company standards.

      

Experience/Qualifications:

  • An HNC/HND qualification in an engineering discipline would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly within a machine shop/fabrication shop/ workshop type environment, would be preferred.
  • Applicants should have experience with AutoCAD.
  • Experience with a CAD management system, such as, Autodesk Vault would be preferred.
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor would be preferred.
  • Applicants should have experience in creating part numbers and BOM’s in MRP software.
  • Applicants should have an excellent understanding of geometry and drawing principles, machining tolerances and dimensioning principles.
